Nissan Leaf E + 2020 - attractive and sporty electric car

The company "Nissan" today unveiled the "LEVE +", which was provided with a new system of driving force and the scope of energy consumption, which enhances the attractiveness of customers of this best-selling electric vehicle in the world * 1.

The symbol "E +" indicates the increased energy density provided by the battery pack in the new car and the high capacity of its impulse system.  The new payment capabilities of the LifE + add to their capabilities by up to about 40%, ensuring that they meet the driving needs of a broader range of Nissan customers.

Commenting, Daniel Eskilachi, Executive Vice President, Nissan, said: “The symbol E + in the name of the car indicates additional features in the LEV car, as it gives our customers more options, in terms of momentum and increased energy consumption.”

"By giving customers the opportunity to choose the momentum system that best suits them, the award-winning Nissan Leaf - is more attractive and convenient than ever for them," he added.

It is worth noting that the sales of the fully electric Nissan Nissan Leaf exceeded 380,000 units worldwide since it was put on the market in 2010.

The car is equipped with a set of advanced technologies such as the ProPILOT * 2 semi-autonomous driving system and the e-Pedal to drive with a single pedal, “Lev” embodies the vision of “Nissan Intelligent Mobility”, which revolves around how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society.

With its LEV, Nissan continues to be the market leader in the large-scale electric vehicle market, and is continuing its efforts today to promote alternative mobility solutions.

The LEV electric car plays an important role in Nissan's efforts to build a transportation system to integrate electric cars and clean energy systems into the lives of customers.

Among these efforts is the "Nissan Energy" initiative launched by the company, which aims to facilitate the connection of its electric cars with energy systems to charge their batteries and provide electricity to homes and companies, or to recharge electric power grids, in addition to its efforts in the field of reusing used batteries. * 3

The "Nissan Leaf E +" is scheduled to be launched through its authorized dealerships in Japan in late January 2019, while it will start in the United States in the spring of 2019, and in Europe in mid-2019.

The Nissan Leaf E + is an advanced step in each of the three key areas of Nissan Intelligent Mobility: smart energy, smart driving and smart integration.

 Smart power:

Increased performance and increased energy efficiency

"E-Lev" has a new version of the advanced electric power systems that have long been characterized by "Nissan Leaf" cars, as this version provides high energy efficiency with strong torque and a better energy output.

While Nissan Leaf meets the needs of many customers, as it travels 322 km per charge (according to the Japanese Driving Cycle Test WLTC) * 4, the sound of its engine is almost silent, and its acceleration is smooth; the new Leaf E + allows  40% more mileage per shipment, for a maximum range of 458 km (according to the Japanese WLTC Driving Test), allowing customers plenty of time to manage their affairs between shipments. * 5

Thanks to its powerful engine and high-capacity battery, the Life E + can generate 160 kilowatts of power with a torque of 340 Nm, further enhancing its ability to accelerate when driving at high speeds.

The car achieves acceleration from 80 km / h to 120 km / h faster by 13% compared to its predecessors, which allows it to bypass cars less than their speed on the roads with more confidence, and to pass turns faster and more smoothly, and to engage in high-speed traffic  Best.  Its top speed has also been increased by 10% to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

Thanks to the new 70 kW (100 kW max) fast charging system, the new Nissan Leaf E + can be charged more efficiently than ever before.

Based on early tests, owners of "Life E +" can fully charge the car battery when using a charger with a capacity of 100 kilowatts during a time similar to the time it takes to charge "Nissan Leaf" when using a charger with a capacity of 50 kilowatts, although the storage capacity of the battery of "Life E +"  “55% bigger.

In spite of the increase in the density of energy generated by 25% and the increase in the energy storage capacity, the battery "Lev E +" comes approximately the same size as the battery used in the current "Lev" cars.

The car maintains the same exterior and interior dimensions unchanged, although its overall height increases by 5 mm (thanks to the use of 16-inch wheels).

In the interest of "Nissan" to ensure customer satisfaction and comfort with them, all owners of "Nissan Leaf" cars of all versions enjoy a warranty of 8-year battery life, or 160,000 km (whichever comes first).

"Nissan Leaf meets 99% of the expected demand for electric cars in the market, as it allows customers to choose the most appropriate option for their lifestyle between the propulsion systems and the range of technologies and features available in these cars," said Eskilachi.

 Smart driving:

Innovative features of ProPILOT and the smooth operation of the e-Pedal

The ProPILOT system plays a pivotal role in the success of Nissan's smart driving vision, which is a semi-autonomous driving technology that automatically adjusts the distance with the front vehicle by applying pre-set speed limits by the driver (ranging from 30 to 100 km / h).

The ProPILOT system can also help the driver to steer the vehicle and keep its track on the road.  In the event that any other vehicle stops in front of the "Nissan Leaf", the ProPILOT system can automatically apply the brakes to completely stop the vehicle when necessary.

And in this case the car can remain in place without movement even if the driver raises his foot from the brake pedal.

When the vehicle resumes again, the vehicle continues to run when the driver touches the ProPILOT button on the steering wheel, or by using the accelerator gently to activate the system.

All of these advantages contribute to reducing driver tension when driving on highways, regardless of their traffic density.

The car also has the feature ProPILOT Park (available exclusively on models for the markets of Japan and the European Union), a system that is able to control acceleration, braking, gear shift and the application of parking brakes to guide the car to the place designated for the parking.

In turn, the electronic pedal technology contributes to taking the Nissan LEV driving experience to new levels, as it allows the driver to start, accelerate, reduce speed and stop using the accelerator only.

In order to better fit this technology with the Lev E + with its new features, Nissan reprogrammed the e-Pedal to run more smoothly and enhance the pedal response - especially when reversing - with better control when slowing down, which  It makes stopping the car smoother when using e-Pedal.

In addition to the ProPILOT and e-Pedal systems, all Nissan Leaf vehicles incorporate many safety technologies, including intelligent lane exit prevention, lane departure warning, smart emergency braking, and vehicle blind alert system,  And the system to warn of the existence of a rear traffic when reversing, and the system of intelligent comprehensive vision screen with the monitoring of moving objects.

 Nissan smart integration:

Modern interface, larger screen, better updates to enhance the driving experience

The new “Lev” vehicle connects the driver with the vehicle and the surrounding environment through the artificial control interface, which allows the car owner to use the NissanConnect smart phone application to perform multiple tasks such as monitoring the level of the car battery charge, and preparing a schedule with charging times to take advantage of the best electric power prices,  Find the nearest charging station, and warm or cool the vehicle before boarding.

The new additions to the LifE + (North American and European models) include an 8-inch larger color transistor screen that responds to touch, click, and swipe like smartphones, as well as an updated navigation system that can be linked to compatible smartphones.  The driver can also wirelessly update applications, maps, and firmware wirelessly with a single click of a button, instead of manually updating them using a USB port or the need to visit a Nissan dealer.

The new updates also include the Door-to-Door Navigation System, which synchronizes the vehicle's navigation system with the smartphone to provide the driver with directions, whether driving or walking.

The Connections feature enables passengers to connect to any device in the vehicle quickly and easily.

The concept of integration exceeds the features in the car, which comes within the framework of the vision of "Nissan Energy", which makes the "Lev" part of the environmentally friendly electric vehicle system. * 3

 Streamlined and modern design

The highlight of the new Nissan Leaf is its streamlined design that enhances its aerodynamics, as well as its bold front end with Nissan's distinctive 3D V-motion grille in blue.  Its streamlined profile gives it the sporty character, with distinctive tail lights.

The Leaf E + maintains the Nissan LEV's overall design with special touches that distinguish it, such as its modified front foyer with a blue illumination and the E + logo on the bottom side of the charging port cover.

And similar to the "Nissan Leaf", the "Leaf E +" car is characterized by its spacious and practical interior design that gives a sense of high quality, as the interior was made of the finest materials to give it more luxury, by embroidering with prominent blue stitches on the steering wheel, seats,  And the door cover to give it the character "Nissan" electric cars.

“The Nissan Leaf E + has made a quantum leap towards fulfilling Nissan’s vision for smart mobility,” said Askelachi.  LEV cars continue to play a pioneering role in paving the way towards building an efficient and sustainable transportation system, in addition to developing a new style that goes beyond the concept of owning a car, to achieve additional benefits for customers and the world in general.

The price of the Nissan Leaf E + starts in Japan from 4,162,320 yen, and its price will be revealed in the rest of the countries with the approaching dates for sale.
