Volkswagen Passat 2020

Volkswagen unveiled the new Passat 2020 at the North American International Auto Show.

Eight years ago, Volkswagen made major modifications to the mid-size sedan segment by adding more interior space and passenger comfort facilities as well as the uniqueness of the company providing the experience of driving pleasure.

Building on the massive success of this model, the new Passat delivers more impressive features: bolder design, more advanced technologies, and a lot of comfort equipment and driver assistance systems.

“Passat is the only mid-size sedan that provides German driving dynamics at a reasonable price, and its name is frequently echoed by customers thanks to its remarkable design that combines comfort, reliability and driving dynamics,” said Scott Cove, Volkswagen's North American CEO. With this new model, we have raised the standard of design and developed technology to make this car more attractive. In addition, we have provided a lot of innovative and attractive equipment for convenience and driver assistance.

Although Passat 2020 retains the basic features of the previous model, its design has been completely developed.

Everything in it makes it look elegant and sporty at first sight, from a streamlined roof that resembles the design of the coupe, and the distinctive "Tornado" style, and the prominent front grille.

The slim LED headlights and taillamps come as standard equipment with the Passat logo accentuated across the width of the luggage compartment lid, giving the car a more elegant look. The standard 17-inch aluminum wheels further enhance the car's sophisticated design, and 18 and 19-inch wheels are also available.

The Passat cabin combines sophisticated new design and advanced technologies with the spaciousness of the cabin that made the previous model widespread.

The steering wheel features a horizontal design that integrates the air vents that flow on the instrument panel in a style that simulates the style used in luxury models.

The car is also equipped with a new, more sophisticated and elegant instrument cluster with a glass-covered touch screen for the infotainment program.

The new exterior design is complemented by new colors and luxurious materials, with three interior designs available based on the improved style. Seat surfaces in V-Tex leather and Nappa leather from Volkswagen are available, as well as fabric seats that come standard with four color options.

Comfort facilities for both the driver and passengers remain one of the most important strengths of the Passat. Heated front and rear seats are available in the car, a driver's electric chair with memory to save the setting and dual Climatronic automatic air conditioning control.

Amenities available as an optional option include foldable and heated side mirrors with memory to save the setting, an adaptive front lighting system with a fixed range controller and cornering lights, an interior rear-view mirror with the ability to automatically lower the level of light, remote operation, rain-sensing areas, and the possibility of KESSY Keyless Entry, Keyless Start Button, Voice Control, Easy-Open Luggage Box.

On the level of information and entertainment systems, the Passat 2020 is witnessing a huge technological breakthrough.  In addition to the new glass-coated touch screen, the MIB II Composition Media with SiriusXM Radio is available as standard (includes a three-month trial subscription) and Discover Media is available for navigation.

Among the standard equipment equipped with all Passat cars is the Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect system, which integrates smartphones compatible with the three main platforms: Apple CarPlay , Android Auto  and MirrorLink, allowing the selection of applications via a screen.  Information and entertainment.

Those who love high-quality audio experience will enjoy the Fender Premium audio system on top of models.

Technical updates are not limited to the interior, but the new Passat offers a comprehensive package of driver assistance systems available as standard or as optional.

All Passat cars include the front collision protection system, the automatic brake pressure system in the event of an emergency (front assistance), the pedestrian control system, the blind spot sensor system, and the rear traffic alert system.

Available driver assistance systems include optional equipment: the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and the cruise control system, which helps the driver to steer the vehicle back onto its track if it deviates to another track without using the turn signal, and the parking assistance system that includes the control system  Corner distance.

In addition, Passat combines passive and active safety systems such as an automated braking system after a collision.

Like its predecessor, the new Passat comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI engine and direct injection from Volkswagen, and has a horsepower of 174 horsepower.

It is also equipped with a new torque converter that delivers impressive performance thanks to new programs that boost the 207-foot-lap of torque (the improved launch model will carry the thrust and movement used in the previous model).

Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a Tiptronic six-speed automatic transmission.

The Volkswagen Passat 2020 will be available in the Middle East region from the third quarter / fourth quarter of 2019.
